You may display additional items such as merchandise and registration add-ons for registrants to choose to add to their registration details.
This may be used for a variety of purposes and is wide ranging depending on your needs.
Each optional item can have various characteristics added.
- Item Name: Required (Short Name)
- Item Type: Select from 1 of the 3 choices.
- Merchandise: normally clothing or other items they can purchase for an extra cost.
- Registration Add-On: normally an item that is not merchandise that can be added to the registration for an extra cost.
- Included Item: normally an item such as a T-Shirt that is included in the registration cost. An included item must be $0. - Price: Required (can be $0)
- Description: this is a larger HTML section where you can add more information about the item in the WYSIWYG editor. It may include an image such as a sizing chart.
- Image: Optional but the page looks best when a picture of the item is added.
- Sort Order: is the order in which the item appears on the page.
Advanced Section (Click the down arrows to expand)
- Available From Date: Optional: the date at which the item is shown from.
- Available To Date: Optional: the date at which the item is shown until.
- Available To Categories: Select which categories the included item is shown to (Registration Add on and Included Items Only).
- Sold Out: if the item is sold out, tick the box. It will still be shown to the person, but they cannot order it. Leave un-ticked by default.
- Total Inventory: when this quantity is reached, the item will be shown as 'Sold Out' (e.g. 100 T-Shirts).
- 1 Item per person: if the person can only order 1 of the item, tick this box. This is useful for an item such as insurance, that they can only order 1.
- Is Compulsory: this is used for if someone has to have this specific add on such as insurance (Registration Add on and Included Items Only).
- Included Item Allow Opt Out: if the item is provided to the person free as an Included Item, you can select that they can opt out if they choose and thus not receive it.
- Custom Question: you can tick to 'Display Custom Question' and with then be prompted to add the 'Custom Text Question' and add the maximum number ofcharacters allowed for your participants to answer (the default is 140).
When you save the item, it is added and shown in the grid at the top of the page.
Variants Option
You can then click the "Variants" button next to the item to add variants such as sizes for the person to choose from.
You can then add the variants, to the optional item as separate line items.
- Description: the name of the Variant.
- Sort Order: the order in which they appear.
- Maximum Allowed: the quantity available until the item sells out.
- Sold Out: if the item is sold out, tick the box. It will still be shown to the person, but they cannot order it. Leave un-ticked by default.
Once the item is added, it is shown in the grid at the top of the page.
Participant View of Optional/ Included Items
When the participant is registering they will see the "Included Item" like this.
When the participant is registering they will see the "Registration AddOn" items like this. Then type the quantity of the items they require.
In addition to the above, if you choose to only allow them to add a quantity of 1 (in the advanced options of the optional items section), then it is shown as a tick box instead.
You can also have this ticked by default if you require. Contact us to setup that function.
The "Merchandise" items are shown on their own page -
They can select the size and quantity and then add to their registration.
If they click the picture of the item, it will open a larger picture of the item with the extra description text you have added.
Please Note: after a person has registered, they can go back and add more optional items at a later date, as long as "Edit Registration" is turned on and the "Open To" date on the optional item has not passed.
Registration Levels
Optional items can now be set at the individual or team level or both. This means that event organizers can now filter the options shown to participants. (e.g. Only teams are eligible for a team singlet not individuals and therefore will only be given the option to purchase team singlets.)
Available to Categories - is only available to the Include Item.
Available to Categories - is available for all 3 option types.
You can also setup merchandise pickup / postage options on the Merchandise Options tab for your merchandise items.
If they select a merchandise item, it will then ask them for the pickup / postage options based on what you have set.
